Google AdWords Conversion Tracking for PrestaShop (Module)

Module installation

1. Upload folder "cmgoogleconversion" into /modules/ folder via FTP or use module upload tool in Back Office » Modules » Add new module to upload module package.
2. Install module in: Back Office » Modules
3. Go into module settings and fill required data.
4. The module is ready to working in production mode
5. If any problem occurred, check your data filled into module and PrestaShop configuration first. If the problem still persist, please contact module author.

Google AdWords Conversion Tracking implementation steps

1. Create and/or log in to your Google AdWords account first.
2. Create your new conversion. Follow navigation: Tools > Conversions [1 & 2]
   
3. On the Conversion page, click on "+ CONVERSION" button [3]
4. Assign a Name [4] to the new conversion, check that Source is set to "Webpage" [5] and click on "Save and continue" button [6].
   
5. On the Settings page choose and save following important values:
   • Conversion category: Purchase/Sale [7]
   • Conversion window: 30 days
   • Count: All conversions
   • Conversion value: The value of this conversion action may vary (for instance, by purchase price) [8]
     • for default value set: 0 [9]
   • Markup Language: HTML
   • Tracking indicator: Don't add a notification to the code generated for my page [10]
   
6. In the last step choose "I make changes to the code" [12] option. You will able to see your Google AdWords Conversion Tracking code.
   
7. Copy, paste and save following values into PrestaShop module settings:
   • google_conversion_id [13] as Conversion ID [16]
   • google_conversion_label [14] as Conversion label [17]
   
8. You are done!

FAQ & Troubleshooting

My Google Tag Assistant (Chrome Extension) indicate broken Google AdWords Tracking code. Why and how to fix it?
From the version 1.6.0.8 PrestaShop introduced a brand new feature "Move JavaScript to the end". This function not very carefully manipulating with all JavaScripts embed into source code and move them in the end of the page's source code. But this can bring damaging of the JS code and removing important parts. Finally some JavaScript code stop working.

Solution: Go into Back Office > Advanced parameters > Performance and set "Move JavaScript to the end" and "Compress inline JavaScript in HTML" options into "No".
